We arrived at the hospital early in the morning on Sunday the 14th, delivered the baby at 5:30 in the morning on the 15th, and left about 8:00 in the evening on the 16th. It was a whirlwind three days but we made it through! I am also happy to report we made it through our first night at home (with some help from my Mom, of course).
We started this blog to keep our long distance relatives and friends up to date as Alma and Hadrian grow and our lives happen.

Alma has arrived!!!!!
Alma Julius Graves-Funke was born on June 15th 2009 in Lewiston Idaho. She weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long! It took a full 40 weeks of gestation, almost 28 hours of labor and 3 1/2 hours of pushing to get her here, but when she finally arrived it was worth the wait! She has a full head of black hair, big blue eyes, chubby little cheeks, and the coveted Graves nose!
She is already a little Daddy's girl and Dan is quite smitten with her. He already looked it up and discovered that her 21st birthday will be on a Saturday. He also discovered that she shares her birthday with the day George Washington became the 1st president of the US and the day that Ben Franklin flew his infamous key and kite. She also shares her birthday with her uncle Kyle and the delivery room nurse. Yup. She is destined for greatness!

I don't think I have ever seen a cuter chubbier cheeks than that little honey in my whole life, let alone on a newborn. I just want to schnoogle those cheeks right now. I guess I'll have to wait till August. Make sure to give her plenty of cream so those cheeks are still there when I see her.
ReplyDeleteSo happy! What a sweet baby girl! Hope you are having fun and getting rest. Thank goodness for grandmas, huh? Enjoy!!! See you soon!
