It is hard to believe that Alma is already two weeks old!?! How did that happen? I already feel like she is growing up too fast. In honor of the big b-day, I decided to post a little video. Of course, Alma is only two weeks old, so it is just a video of her, doing what she does. Which is mainly trying to fall asleep! Enjoy.
We started this blog to keep our long distance relatives and friends up to date as Alma and Hadrian grow and our lives happen.

Kat and Tyler's wedding
Saturday one of my good friends tied the knot! Kat and Tyler got married in Lewiston Idaho - and it was Alma's first trip to anything other than the doctor. She even got to wear a pretty dress that Aunt Jenny bought her in New Orleans! We were really nervous about having Alma out in the heat of the day because of her new casts, but she did really well. We kept her in the shade and she pretty much slept the entire time. Except, of course, when she was pooping.
Since we were all dressed up (well, everybody but Dan of course) we decided to take a nice family photo. The wedding was outdoors at Tyler's grandparents house.

This is a picture of myself, the lovely bride Katherine, and our good friend Rachael. Kat is five months pregnant, and announced at the wedding that they are going to have a little boy - Tyler Thomas Junior. Rachael just had a baby three months ago. (Don't they both look awesome!) We love this because Alma has lots of little friends to have play dates with.

Alma's first bath!
Alma had her very first bath (several day's ago, so don't worry, we are not terrible parents who let our baby become the smelly kid.) Of course, at this point her cord hadn't fallen off yet so we had to give her a sponge bath. This is actually pretty convenient since we can bathe her on the bathroom counter. Babies are so much fun after they have a bath because they smell so deliciously baby-like. It makes me want to eat her!
Don't let her fool you, she might not look happy but she LOVES to be bathed!
Just an FYI: So I always vowed that when I had kids I wouldn't turn into one of those really boring people who does nothing but talk about how cute their kids are. I lied. I am totally that person now. So, if you don't like it, I don't care! I just can't resist taking pictures of everything because my little girl actually IS the cutest kid on earth and EVERYTHING she does should be interesting to everybody we know. So, enjoy!

Alma has arrived!!!!!
Alma Julius Graves-Funke was born on June 15th 2009 in Lewiston Idaho. She weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and was 19 inches long! It took a full 40 weeks of gestation, almost 28 hours of labor and 3 1/2 hours of pushing to get her here, but when she finally arrived it was worth the wait! She has a full head of black hair, big blue eyes, chubby little cheeks, and the coveted Graves nose!
We arrived at the hospital early in the morning on Sunday the 14th, delivered the baby at 5:30 in the morning on the 15th, and left about 8:00 in the evening on the 16th. It was a whirlwind three days but we made it through! I am also happy to report we made it through our first night at home (with some help from my Mom, of course).
She is already a little Daddy's girl and Dan is quite smitten with her. He already looked it up and discovered that her 21st birthday will be on a Saturday. He also discovered that she shares her birthday with the day George Washington became the 1st president of the US and the day that Ben Franklin flew his infamous key and kite. She also shares her birthday with her uncle Kyle and the delivery room nurse. Yup. She is destined for greatness!
